A respected name in Mumbai theatre actor – director Salim Ghouse is a man of irrepressible energy immense talent and versatile skills. He has acted in TV serials and Indian films (Koyla, Shapath, Soldier) and also directed plays (The Merchant of Venice Hamlet, Macbeth). Unwilling to compromise on his principles his life has been dizzy heights of success and also devastating lows. But like the legendary phoenix after which his theatre company is named he has risen above the roles he has essayed in his quarter century center stage. By constantly enriching his body mind and spirit Ghouse has integrated his inner and outer words to come home as he puts it.

An FTII pune graduate and now the founder and creative director of the Phoenix players he is also a martial arts practitioner in various disciplines and is trained in kalari and Marma shastra. He is also the founder chairman of the Zendokai centre for Holistic Studies using Tai’chi and chikung exercise for stress management rejuvenation and meditation besides this he conducts drama workshops and synergy seminars.

In speaking Tree he uses his deep and well modulated voice to guide the listeners to the answers that lied deep within each person. The element of clarity which is characteristic of his voice simplifies even the most complex situations and hence makes listening a soothing experience.
