Preface

Ayurveda is the science of life, explained by our ancient saints on three basis ie 1) Yogic base, 2) Poetic base, 3) Logical base. This makes very difficult to understand the Ayurveda. All the Ayurvedic scripts are in Devanagiri script. Because of globalization and liberalisation English language acquired major portion of the world. It is a time to speak Ayurveda in a language accepted by the major portion of world. This inspired me to write a book on Sharir Kriya Vijnana in English language being Prof. and HOD of the Dept. It has, therefore been designed to help the both UG and PG students by its clear ideas about the subject.

This book is primarily aimed serve the needs of the existing era students, the scope of comparison of modern science with Ayurvedic concepts. Hence the author has included modern science portion in this book considering the high magnitude of its necessary to understand Ayurveda.

The author takes this opportunity to remember and express his deep gratitude to my grandfather Late. Shri Gutteppa Kotur and my grand mother Late. Smt. Shivamma Kotur, who always lessened me to work hard and come forward and who’s sacrifices enabled me to grow and to approach the heights, set by virtue of their dreams. May their soul rest in peace.

My deepest gratitude to my parents Shri. Basawanneppa and Smt. Shankarewwa. My wife Dr. Shashikala Medica Officer, GAD Malegaon, Dist Bidar, also daughter Chinmayi and son Manjunath, perhaps you will be the most felicitous persons to see this accomplishments.

My heart felt gratitude to the Management Committee Office bearers and members of ShriChidambara Shikshana Samsthe for their co-operation and encouragement. For their contribution. My deepest gratitude to prof. Dr.S.P. Tiwari who guided me in my PG. Studies and now working as a principal S.S.M.D. Ayurvedic Medical College, Moga (Punjab).
