Description
About the Book
Blood and chi often flow side by side throughout the body, the blood acting as the vehicle for our vital energy. Areas of slow or congested circulation lead to blockages in the flow of vital energy and toxin accumulation in the body. The practice of Life Pulse Massage allows these blockages to be cleared, revitalizing cardiovascular function, detoxifying the organs, and restoring the flow of blood and chi throughout the body.

In this fully illustrated guide to Life Pulse Massage, Master Mantak Chia and Aisha Sieburth detail abdominal massage practices to open restricted blood vessels, direct blood flow to specific areas for healing, release arterial tension to rebalance high or low blood pressure, and detoxify individual organs and body systems such as the heart, lungs, digestive system, and sexual organs. They show how to clear and activate the master pulses of the navel center and aorta and syn-chronize these master pulses with the 52 pulses of the whole body for optimum circulation and energy balance. In addition to the five-part Life Pulse Massage practice the authors also include a separate Pumping the Pulse practice that can stand alone or be incorporated into the larger massage.

An advanced branch of Chi Nei Tsang abdominal massage, Life Pulse Massage incorporates elements from several traditions including traditional Chinese medicine, traditional Thai medicine, and classical Taoist philosophy. Reflecting these traditions, the massage works on several levels to release physical, emotional, and energetic blockages throughout the body, revitalizing the organs, and setting the stage for optimum health.

About the Authors
Mantak Chia has been studying the Taoist approach to life since childhood. His mastery of this ancient knowledge, enhanced by his study of other disciplines, has resulted in the development of the Universal Healing Tao system, which is now being taught throughout the world.

Mantak Chai was born in Thailand to Chinese parents in 1944. When he was six years old, he learned from Buddhist monks how to sit and "still the mind." While in grammar school he learned traditional Thai boxing, and he soon went on to acquire considerable skill in aikido, yoga, and Tai Chi. His studies of the Taoist way of life began in earnest when he was a student in Hong Kong, ultimately leading to his mastery of a wide variety of esoteric disciplines, with the guidance of several masters, including Master I Yun, Master Meugi, Master Cheng Yao Lun, and Master Pan Yu. To better understand the mechanisms behind healing energy, he also studied Western anatomy and medical sciences.

Master Chia has taught his system of healing and energizing practices to tens of thousands of students and trained more than two thousand instructors and practitioners throughout the world. He has established centers for Taoist study and training in many countries around the globe. In June of 1990, he was honored by the International Congress of Chinese Medicine and Qi Gong (Chi Kung), which named him the Qi Gong Master of the Year.

Aisha Sieburth is a senior instructor of the Universal Healing Tao system, Chi-ang Mai, Thailand. She lives and works in Avignon, France, as director of the School of the Tao of Vitality and Sou-limet Association, which she founded in 1998 to bridge Eastern and Western approaches of ancestral healing arts and Born in Boston, USA, holding a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts and Human Science from Tufts University, she con-tinues her research and artistic creations to develop the link between the ancient healing arts and modern-day perspectives. Since early child-hood, when Aisha was initiated to the traditional arts of meditation, healing body work, and classical dance in Japan, India, and Europe, she has followed the path of unifying the spirit through energy work from within the body. With much gratitude to her many teachers and to Master Chia, her travels continue throughout Asia and Europe, teach-ing and training in the Universal Healing Tao system, Chinese and Thai medicine, and Kung Fu Wushu combined with kinesthetic anatomy for movement and her passion as a dancer and artist. As a teacher and practitioner of Taoist energy work and Chi Nei Tsang, her workshops are the fruit of her experience offering a holistic approach for self-healing through energy consciousness, meditation, and movement inspired by the practices of ancient Taoist Inner Alchemy, Internal martial arts, and Chi Nei Tsang.

Introduction
Life Pulse Massage is a healing method for activating the vital pulses of the body. This ancient Taoist healing practice, an advanced branch of traditional Chi Nei Tsang abdominal massage, opens a new dimension of healing that uses our vital essences of blood and chi to improve, invigorate, and balance the health of our organs and their functions. First clearing and activating the vital pulses of the abdominal center to improve energy supply to the vital organs, Life Pulse Massage then synchronizes the fifty-two pulses of the body with the "master pulses" of die navel and aorta centers for optimum circulation and balance.

This global body treatment releases arterial tension to rebalance high or low blood pressure, flushes toxins, opens restricted blood vessels, nid increases blood and chi flow through the entire vascular system and die organs. Working with the fluid form of blood as a vehicle of our vital many, Life Pulse Massage restores and harmonizes optimum cardiovascular circulation for better overall health. The work also harmonizes the Kibde balances of spirit and matter in the body, calming the heart and mind and opening a deeper connection with the inner self.

BLOOD AND CHI

Blood and chi are the fundamental circulating energies in the body. Their edition and movement form the theoretical and practical basis for all of the Chinese healing arts. Blood and chi flow side by side throughout zit body wherever energy channels and blood vessels parallel one another.

A famous saying captures their relationship: "When the chi moves, the blood flows; if the chi stagnates, the blood congeals."

Blood

Blood is a very dense form of chi that is created from a combination of chi energy from the food we eat, Prenatal Chi or original force, and chi from the air we breathe. The course and functions of blood have been well charted by modern medicine: arterial blood carries nutriments, oxygen, and nutritious chi to all the body's cells; venous blood, having given up its nutrition and oxygen to the tissues, is returning to the heart carrying carbon dioxide to be eliminated through the lungs (fig. I.1). Blood also carries a strong symbolic charge, intimately associated with life and death. Essential to every existence, the symbolic meaning of blood has been mingled throughout history with that of family lineage, blood ties, cultural ritual, philosophy, and of course medicine. From the sacrifices executed in many traditions to cultural rites of passage and the cure of bleeding in medicine, blood retains a power of purity or impurity. In popular language, many expressions relate the importance of blood.

Blood is animated with its own intelligence. At once essence and existence, it shows us where sickness begins and also brings the necessary elements of healing to where they are needed. Observing and working with its vital flow permits the body's pharmacy to play its role. A healthy pulse creates optimum blood flow and is a fundamental element to good health. Life Pulse Massage is a healing therapy focusing on releasing, activating, and harmonizing blood flow to clean, nourish, and regenerate the tissues and the organs of the body.

Chi

Chi is the motor force in blood, making it lively and energetic, and supplying the power that allows it to course through the body (fig. 1.2). Blood and chi have tremendous healing power when they are full of nutrition and energy and can flow naturally and abundantly throughout the body. Problems arise with both vital energies when they are energy deficient, too hot, too cold, stagnant, or not moving forcefully enough. Life Pulse Massage is a powerful treatment for regulating these two energies as they work together.

Why Blood Slows Down

Many factors can interfere with blood flow, including the following:

• Physical obstructions in the blood vessels. These can include plaques, toxins, bacteria, viruses, blood clots, stenos is, thrombosis, etc.

• Structural constrictions of the fasciae, tissues, nerves, and/or muscular lining of the vessels. Such constrictions arise most often from tension due to stress.

• Imbalance of the autonomic nervous system, provoking high or low blood pressure.

Life Pulse Massage clears mechanical blockages, releasing toxins and emotional charges. It also flushes the blood, increasing blood and chi flow to the organs and tissues for optimum health. Finally, Life Pulse Massage balances and synchronizes the pulses and blood pressure, harmonizing emotions.

I really LOVE you! Wonderful selections, prices and service. Thank you!
Tina, USA
This is to inform you that the shipment of my order has arrived in perfect condition. The actual shipment took only less than two weeks, which is quite good seen the circumstances. I waited with my response until now since the Buddha statue was a present that I handed over just recently. The Medicine Buddha was meant for a lady who is active in the healing business and the statue was just the right thing for her. I downloaded the respective mantras and chants so that she can work with the benefits of the spiritual meanings of the statue and the mantras. She is really delighted and immediately fell in love with the beautiful statue. I am most grateful to you for having provided this wonderful work of art. We both have a strong relationship with Buddhism and know to appreciate the valuable spiritual power of this way of thinking. So thank you very much again and I am sure that I will come back again.
