Director's Note

It is indeed a pleasure and pride to offer to the readers hitherto unpublished work Laghu Ramanayam of Krishnavadhuta. This is a great contribution. He has been a champion in all the fields of Philosophy, Rhetorics, Alankara Shastra, Vyakarana and Itihasa Puranas; So, here, Ramayana Sangraha is a great contribution to the treasury of the poetic world.

How true !! what the world, the sun will have missed to see, the poet sees it. He is a visionary, after all. Perhaps with his genius, perhaps with his poetic insight or perhaps taking a leaf or inspiration from age-old works, has taken the story and has given a twist or a turn, to show the spendour is altogether a different light, from a different angle, keeping himself extremely careful, differing slightly from Mahabharata Tatparya Nirnaya of Acharya Madhwa or the Mularamayana. He has spread his wings of imagination freely, but very carefully. He has poetic right and poetic justice for such a liberty!!

Pandit P.V. Upadhyaya has in his brief introduction given a beautiful portrait of the uniques of the poets talent and the work.

Poornaprajna Samshodhana Mandiram is presenting this work, though small, yet very beautiful, a small contribution to the world of knowledge, carrying with it the blessings of Sri Pejavara Swamiji our beloved President. His guidance at every step, his generous financial help at every stage, his words of encouragement, and caution too, are the guiding lamps to make our path bright and right. We offer our Pranams.

Prof. V. Kutumba Shastry, the Director of Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, New Delhi, has been another Philosopher and guide to appreciate the works we have undertaken with his encouragement. We feel short of words to thank him for his love for this institution. We thank him again.

We thank Pandit P.P. Shridhara Upadhyaya and the officials of Oriental Research Institute, Chennai who provided this valuable manuscripts.

Pandit Sadananda Poti and officials of Oriental Research Institute, Trivandrum have helped immensely to bring this publication. We owe them our gratitude.

Last but not the least, we thank Pandit P.V. Upadhyaya who has very active preserving manuscripts and books, editing, and internet activities.
