Preface

“Asukari Cikitsa’ is an Ayurvedic particular term, in Sanskrit, which has, I think, has no exact synonymical term in English.

This term is used frequently in Ayurvedic literature, with various meanings to denote. It is not seen used in a particular restricted sense. I have used it here in the sense ‘instant’ which can be a term that relates a meaning near about the sense of ashu.’

It is realised and seen, in my practice; people are under impression that there is nothing ‘asukari’ in Ayurveda. Some are rather curious to know if this subject is dealt with in Ayurveda.

Taking this view in mind, I have tried to go as deep as possible to investigate the subject in general; and in Sandhivata, Amla-pitta and Sita-pitta in particular.

To put in a nut-shell, my findings of the work are:

1. We come across many references regarding Asukari’ Cikitsa in original Ayurvedic literature:
2. The subject of ‘asu-karitva’ seems solved with a particular view of basic principles of Ayurveda, having a deep root of nature and its activities.
3. In this thesis there is a collection of important Ayurvedic ‘asukari’ drugs, formulae and therapies, which may prove useful to those who wish to make research work on this subject.
4. In the support of my findings, I have provided charts and graphs on the above said particular diseases.
