Foreword

Ayurveda is one of the oldest scientific systems of holistic medicine based on God gifted vision and experience. There is increasing curiosity and awareness about Ayurveda and its various branches in India and throughout the world.

A basic knowledge of Fundamental principles of Ayurveda is needed to understand the treatment procedures intelligently.

We are happy to review the manuscript of the book entitled Ayurvedic Physiotherapy Bi Yoga authored by Dr. Anil K. Mehta SC Dr. Raghunandan Sharma which serves the purpose of imparting good brief knowledge of panchakarma, clinical views and practical approach.

In this book very simple language to interpret the original Ayurvedic text has been used in a manner easy to understand and apply. It successfully projects the application of Fundamental principles of Ayurveda into practice through various techniques duly illustrated for processional use.

It seems that this book would be very beneficial for scholars of Ayurveda, Panchakarma, Ayurveda students, technicians SL also physicians in practice in India and abroad.

With the blessings of Lord Dhanwantari, we have been treating successfully many patients of various chronic ailments at Prakash Deep Institute of Ayurvedic Sciences (PDI) by applying the ancient classical principles of Ayurveda with a scientific approach.

Dr. Anil K. Mehta has already written more than 20 books on Ayurveda and running successfully various clinics and schools in Europe.

We personally appreciate the remarkable contribution of the authors in the global spread of Ayurveda.

We feel pleasure and privileged to write foreword for this book & wish success to authors.

Preface

We are happy to present this monograph on “Ayurvedic Physiotherapy & Yoga” to the reader which has been written to explore the knowledge of ancient classical detoxification therapies from a different angle. This book is a blend of intelligence derived from the roots of Ancient wisdom and modern methodology of clinical application in the scientific way.

Based on classical and Keraliya Ayurvedic Panchakarma, a comprehensive method of internal purification, this book has been written to convey the knowledge of deep secrets of healing in an very simple but logical way for easy application.

Unfortunately, such an important branch of Ayurvedic therapeutics is not recognized so well in spite of its amazing result oriented efficacy. The technicians lack correct scientific knowledge and its rational application, this being a cause for the modern community to go for modern techniques of physiotherapy which is actually derived from Ayurvedic principles.

We hope that this book will be an eye opener for the Ayurvedic br non Ayurvedic practitioners, students and technicians and hope it gets its due recognition in the medical world.
