Book Description
PREFACE

I have written this book to help people realize that the achievement of divinity is the main goal of their lives. The first thirty thoughts in the book emphasise the necessity of leading a religious and spiritual life. The remaining thoughts are pearls strung upon the common thread of religion and are therefore not grouped under specific headings. This is because all of them gravitate to one centre-God-realization. Therefore, I feel it is not required to divide them into separate chapters.

I am of the opinion that an author is not a person who forces himself to write something, and desperately tries to find a topic. Such a person may have ambition to be an author, and this may be a way of training oneself to write. But a true author is a man whose mind is overflowing with things to be written and his writing is not fast enough to keep up with his mind. He does not have to search for and select a topic. There is already a topic, so close to his heart that he has to write about it. His mind is so full of his precious subject, that he must periodically empty it onto paper. He would also like to contribute something different to the world. He will always be an honest writer, that is, one whose every line is full of his soul, and written after his innermost self has assented to it. If he writes about his own experiences, one can be sure that it will be a truthful and honest record of them. Making an honest record of them will be of infinitely more importance to him than anyone's reactions to his writings.

If he is religious, he is probably writing for God firstly, and for his readers secondly. Since such an author will be true to his own Self or God, it will be ensured that he will be true to all his readers.

The true author already has his own style and will never copy the style of other authors. Every person is unique, as science has proved, there never was nor will be another person like you in the universe. A true author knows, consciously or unconsciously, that expressing his own brand of uniqueness is the best thing he can do for his readers.
