About the Book
This book of Kriya shareeram consists of all the points explained in Ayurvedic syllabus of Kriya Shareera. Kriya includes the descriptions about dosha, dhatu and malas. The theory of tridosha forms the foundation of Ayurveda. In this text there is an explanation of human body through the principles of vata, pitta kapha, Sapta dhatus and trimalas, keeping in view some of the processes as explained by modern science without detriment to the main concept postulated in Ayurveda. The book includes some of the Ayurveda some of the modern physiology points. This book is written strictly according to the curriculum framed by the CCIM for BAMS graduates. Part A and B are explained separately, covering all the syllabus points. Each topic explained in simple English and suitable shlokas. This book is provided to collect all the syllabus together for the convenience of the students.
She is a post graduate in Ayurveda Siddhant from the esteemed Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore.
She is a daughter of Shri. Vijay. B. Kulkarni and Smt. Susheela, born at Bijapur, Karnataka. She has vast experience of teaching Shareera Kriya and served in various reputed colleges of Karnataka. She has published many articles in various journals. She has guided and guiding many undergraduate and post graduate students. She served as examiner and question paper setter for RGHUS Karnataka, Amrutha University, Kerala & MUHS, Maharashtra for UG and PG students.
Present she is working as Associate Professor in the department of Shareera kriya in esteemed Shri Dharmastala Manjunatheswara College of Ayurveda and Hospital. Hassan Karnataka.
Vd. Shrinath. M. Vaidya He is post graduate in Samhita in Samhita from the esteemed Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore. He is the son of Vaidya. Mayur. P. Vaidya and Smt. Jajalakshmi, born at Haveri, Karnataka.
He has rendered his service as a teacher in Sasmhita & Siddhata in various reputed college and has been instrumental in successfully initiating many learners to study Samhitas. He is imparting Ayurveda knowledge to B. A. M. S. * Post Graduate students. The articles that he published in dailies, magazines and journals are a true guide in leading the learners to perfection. Apart from these he is a Manuscriptologist. The ongoing researches in the area of Manuscriptology suggest his command and encourage the scholars in undertaking Manuscripts for the research work.
Presently he is working as Associate Professor in the department of Samhita & Siddhanta in esteemed institution named Shri Dharmastala Manjunatheshwara College of Ayurveda and Hospital, Hassan Karnataka.
Ayurveda deals with an aim of swasthasya swaasthya rakshanam and aturasya vikaara prashamanam. For the fulfilment of both the aims detailed knowledge of sharira is required. Kriya Sharira deals in detail with normal functions of the body. It includes both Ayurveda as well as modern aspects. First year B.A.M.S. student when enters the field of Ayurveda, feels difficulty in understanding Ayurvedic terminologies as well as the prakruta avastha of shareera (physiology). So to make 1st year BAMS student to get appropriate knowledge of Ayurveda kriya Shareera and modern physiology, Dr.Pratibha, Kulkarni, Associate professor, Dept. Of Kriya Shareera and Dr. S.M. Vaidya, Associate professor, Dept. Of Samhita & Siddhanta have brought up a book named “Kriya Shariram”. Shariram”. The book includes both Ayurvedic and modern aspects Kriya Shareeram and prepared as per CCIM syllabus.
The Sharira Kriya Vigyana the most important subject for undergraduate and post graduate courses of Ayurveda. Extensive study of theory and practicals of this subject is very necessary for student of Ayurveda. The works of a physician in all the times is to keep the body (sharira) in healthy state. Study of the subject Kria Shareera is helpful for such.
The book is written in simple English with a new technique. Images and tables are more, which will help a student for quick grasping. I congratulate the authors for their valuable work and hope that they will give such other valuable books to the readers of Ayurveda.
